this might sound a bit stupid but can the central heating thermostat go faulty. it's been in about 10 years and not had any problems up to now.
it is located in the main bedroom (for some reason) but even when it is turned up to a maximum of 30c the boiler fires up for about 5 mins then knocks off. i have bled the radiators and these are all getting hot. could the thermostat need replacing?

Possibly but.... The actual boiler thermostat could be faulty along with other things.
