cut the wires near the motor as you get two wire crimps for the new motor wires to connect to the old.

The wires from motor are connected using plastic squeeze on connectors best to sqeeze these back off (they may break but they still come off). That way you don`t have to strip the wire
Because its easy to rip the wire off the board when stripping it .
Also 90% percent of 3 ports it will be the motor thats faulty but if after changing it ,it still don`t work it is the board in th valve and new head or valve req
