Well if the system is wired up properly one of the motorised valve micro switches is stuck on (didn't someone say that before?). You can determine which by disconnecting the grey and orange wires and testing for continuity. Presumably the boiler is firing up occasionally as well to maintain temp. as ChrisR explained? I hope you have studied the circuit diagram of the S plan, because you won't make much progress if you don't understand it.

Chrishutt - Wiring not touched by me - I'll double check. if a micro switch is stuck, are the pump running and the occasional boiler firing the only negative effects of this?
