Hello Everyone.
Having a new BOILER fitted and the heating engineer has said he is putting a cleanser in the system one week before he changes the....BOILER.

Can you professionals tell me will that clean any sludge etc out of the system when he comes to drain down the RADS /PIPEWORK ready for the new BOILER or will that just move it all over the system .

Thanks for your advice................

Depends how much sludge you have and where the drain off points are, but standard practise would be to do this, then possibly another flush out, to clean any remainder.

How effective the cleanser will be will depend on which cleanser he has chosen.

X400 will not be very effective in just one week and X800 would have been better and act in four hours!

There are also Fernox products. Then last and rather questionable other unbranded products and "own brand" types again unknown.

I always stick to the market leaders and use them properly.
