I have a request for some concrete cast insitu stairs down to a basement.
Lets start at the basics.....Whats this Cast Insitu mean?

Can someone tell me whats involved in doing this? How much roughly would it cost to do? I am also concerned as I think the services would be underneath these stairs. Should they be moved or is it cheaper to move the location of where the stairs are going. The stairs are planned to be situated on the driveway.

cast insitu means the stairs will be formed by shuttering up and pouring concrete into the shuttering so that stairs are cast as one concrete mass.
sounds expensive.

cast insitu means just that the stairs are cast on site rather then prefabricated.
you need to make up a ply box to the profile of your stairs and then screw in ply strips where the risers will be screw a batten all the way down the top of the risers at the centre so it is resting on the lower floor, to take the weight of the concrete to prevent them bowing its also a good ide to angle them slightly back in at the bottom.
then fill the whole thing with concrete if the stair is more than a couple of treads then do it in stages of a couple of treads at a time.
Use concrete with plenty of sharp sand and less gravel so you can trowel it to a smooth finish.
I would not bury the services in the concrete if it can be avoided.
make sure your ply risers are exactly to the top of the tread below or they will be a nightmare to get out again, and as I said only do a couple at a time or the weight of the concrete will force itself out at the lower treads.
