In the old fashioned fusebox, the live is fed from the on/off switch to busbars within the fusebox, which in turn feeds each individual fuse.

In the consumer unit, there appears to be no busbar for the live.

How is the live fed from the on/off switch to the individual MCB's

if the unit is instaleld correctly there will be a busbar of some kind though it may be hidden.

Or the Crabtree Starbreaker (current model) where the busbar is encased in a plastic sleeve with slots for the devices to plug in using a copper prong.

Or (if you're looking in the catalogue photos) almost any, where the live busbar has a protective plastic cover (removable) to make it more difficult for your inquisitive fingers to touch it.

Or the MEM 2000AD range where, when you buy it, the busbar is not in position, but is clipped into the casing ready for you to take out, snap to suit your required split, and fit.

Or could it be like the original Porsche, where some owners complained their cars had left the factory without an engine under the bonnet, but were equipped with a spare engine in the boot?
