We would like to add 2 windows to our living room and 1 to our kitchen. We need the holes to be cut out of the brickwork, as well as the 3 windows, lintels and sills to be fitted. They are all ground floor so no scaffolding needed.

I will be asking builders to quote for this, but would appreciate any advice on what i should ask to be included in any written quote or what to put in a job breakdown as i know little about building work. It is important that the work is carried out to meet building regs and we get any necessary certificates.

Lastly, do you think it is better to approach widow fitting companies or general builders to do this work?

Many thanks, Sarah

Depends, We are a window company but would have our builder cut the holes we would then fit the windows and issue the certificate. Yes you may get a window company that sends its fitter out to do the complete job and to that i would say no. So it all depends how the window company work.
