I'm trying to replace a single light switch with a dimmer switch. On the back of the original switch there are three ports, one at the bottom and 2 at the top. There are 2 red wires going into one of the top ports, 1 blue and 1 black going into the other top port and a yellow wire going into the bottom port. There is also a green wire connected to the screw holding the back box to the wall. The dimmer switch has three ports - L1, L2 and a wavy line with an arrow going through it, which wires go where???
The instructions with the switch say the mains supply go into L1 and the lamp or transformer (LV) goes into the wavy line port but this makes no sense to me, please help!!!!!!!!

Your old switch is a 2-way & should have c or common on one terminal & L1 & L2 on the others, treat ~ as common & connect the dimmer the same as the old switch.
