ELECTROLUX EWD1409I washine machine fault

I seem to have a bit of a 'week before christmas' problem - flashing start/pause button on my machine.
Model type EWD1409I built-in washer dryer
Product nos 914601235-00

won't start on any cycle
tried holding buttons down, but no error message - just keeps flashing.

i'd appreciate any help.

I suspect you havn't used the dryer lately if you havn't the dryer element becomes damp and the electronics throw up an ED4 error (not shown to the user only in service mode ) and as the neutral on the wash element is linked the wash side then the wash wont work either and you get the symptoms you have remove the lid and try disconnecting the dryer element at the top with 4 terminals at the back (make a note were each wire goes) and then try a wash if it still doesn't work then the door switch may be at fault but i suspect the latter
