EPDM roof sheet and silicone

Is the sealant that is sold for use with EPDM roofing just normal silicone? Can normal silicone be used on EPDM without problems/reaction?

I'll be using EPDM for the first time shortly, and have a few tubes of grey silicone which I would rather use than buy any more
