Hi all,
I am after some advice please. I contacted one of the main firms (rather not mention the firm) in December, and they were set to start on Jan 24th. Spoke to them night before and was told they were running late. would now be 27th. No problem, understandeble after the snow. Now its 15th of Feb and still waiting, had no contact from them. Have left messages for them to contact me. Has anyone else had this problem? I dont mind that they hav'nt started yet, but not being kept up to date is terrible.

Hi yah Cymro32
Having agreed to install your new fascia boards they should honour the agreement and install them. Your choices are to ask them are they still prepared to install them and if they aren’t get that in righting. Then you can look elsewhere for a reputable company.
There are a few companies out there but not many do it properly.
You need to be looking for a company who extends the rafters far enough out to install a vented soffit board.
This is most important as your roof needs to breath and the gap created will prevent the cold from transmitting through into your home.
For those companies out there that secure the fascia board within an inch or so of the remaining concrete the cold and damp will go straight through the fascia and through the wall.
This method is the correct way and traditional, tried and tested and will require an additional row of tiles plus the felt replacing up the roof around three tiles.
I wish you all the very best with this. Tim
