I've just joined and this is my first posting.

I've been asked to stop a shower dripping. The hot water is supplied to said shower via a Vaillant 242/1e boiler. Can I "simply" power down the boiler and then turn off the cold water supplies with the in-house stopcock? Once the shower leak is rectified, can I then re-establish the water supplies and start up the boiler?

Is the above a reasonable way to proceed?

Thanks All!

if I am not mistaken that's a combi boiler, so electricly isolate boiler ,close water stopcock ,drain hot and cold water at lowest taps, sort leak .then put water on and electric .

by the way ,the boiler does deliver hot water direct to taps ,not via a tank ( it is unusual but can be done ) ?
