OK, so I know what would be best - get some lovely floorboards and out them down. Would probably be lighter work too, but most expensive. Second best, plywood flooring. But, heavy and expensive. But, I am on a tight budget.
So, I am thinking, chipboard. The room I need to board is about 3m by 3.4m. I was thinking of using the loft board t&g chipboard, just because it will be easier. It's cheap too. I wish to keep it accessible in parts too, so might have a few ares where it is just screwed down without the tongues.
Is there any reason, other than its cheap and many people seem to hate it, that I should not do this? The room will be a bedroom. It's a bungalow, so sound not an issue.
Or, should I get the larger boards, the 600 x 2400, and cut them?
Also, currently floorboards are 20mm, and I will probably keep the ones in the bay, as that is fiddlier to replace. But all the chip boards I see are 18mm or 22mm. What should I got for?
THis is one option I'm looking at .. http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-P5-T+G-Chipboard-Flooring-18-x-600-x-2400mm/p/164516
Although, these work out cheap and will be much easier to handle.
