I have recently bought a Ford Fiesta (H reg) for my son. The indicators work on their own and so do the headlights but when they are on together the nearside indicator stays on and the nearside head light goes off. I have changed the bulbs and got a new flasher unit but still no go. I have also changed the indcator arm ... without success. Can someone help me please.

The first thing i would check is all the Earth connections, especially to say. the inner wings. if rusty around them, take them off and clean with a grinder, or at least a file, same with the terminals.
The back light terminals on the escort caused a hell of a lot of problems like this, mainly brake and rear indicator problems, worth a look, two minutes, this may not be the answer, but, it's cheap, and may need attention.
