I currently have free view to my plasma tv. The tv has a built in free sat decoder. I want to fit a free sat dish and cable to the tv. But there is only 1 lenght of coax in the wall. Is it possible to use this one lenght from the loft to to TV (about 2m), and then split the signal before the TV conections?

your dish needs to be outside and usualy below the roof height
you need a dedicated cable for each individual tv or box per chanel
in other words freesat recorder needs its own individual cable as well as the tv tuner they cant share the same cable

Yes the different frequencies can be combined and then separated using band pass filters. However the cable in the wall must be good enough for the highest frequency.

A box like this

in the loft and this

on the wall is one method.

However if the cable in your wall was designed for TV then likely not good enough for satellite.
