Hi.

I am currently submitting plans for a 2 storey rear extension. In doing so I will lose the original window in the bedroom to allow for the *new* bedroom to be built.

I will need a window and the only suitable place is in the gable end. We are end terraced and the gable looks out onto a shared passageway and row of neighbouring gardens. (see picture) the window would have to go either end as that's where the recesses are and a chimney stack runs through the middle.

Long and short does the window have to be obscure glass please?

Planning regulations would normally
require obscure glazing and limited top opening - which would not pass building regulations
