Gas fire ...bbu flue liner

hi
if removing old back boiler unit from class1 fireplace and fitting inset living flame gas fire..
Flue liner looks good .. but should the liner be removed fully?? or can it still be left in situ??

Removing the liner and fitting a suitable termination should take no more than an hour!

If a liner is required due to problems with the class 1 flue, it is a requirement to fit a suitable collector box!!
 
Most DEF fires that I encounter are for class 1 flues only !!
Add to that 100cm of ventilation and its a total waste of gas!!
Should be banned!! :evil:
