gas fire

Hello, any advice on this would be much appreciated. I would like to replace my gas fire. I have seen an antique cast iron surrond that I would very much like to buy, however I am wondering if I will be able to buy a fire to fit in it??? Not sure how it all works really?!

How big is the hole in the surround where the fire will fit?
Your best bet is to find a decent engineer who will take a look at it before you buy it to see if it is feasible.
