Perhaps you should avail yourself of BS6891.

Common sense would be to RTFM instead of posting twaddle.

But the wood batens possibily wouldn't.be.air.tight so a gas escpace may not be contained, so you could end.up with the right mixture of air and gas?
 
Gas could pass through were the pipe drops down the top of the stud.wall through a notch. In to the space between to above tongue and groove floor. Is this ok as.they no say you dont need a vent if a pipe runs below a tongue and groove floor.
