Hi,

My garage door is making a chime sound which is not normal. This is being emitted by the control unit when the door is opened or closed.

Its also stopping midway during open and close which means that I have to attempt multiple closures before it eventually completes.

It's not doing this every time and of course, it is very cold at the moment.

Any suggestions?

I have a roller door that has played up a couple of times no chime but some odd lights on the panel, it was stopping part way unless you kept your hand on the button.
Both times the cure was the standard IT one pull the power from the unit wait a min or so then power up.

Can't remember, but it has been fine all this week and it has been a mite nippy;)

Might also be worth checking if your safety cut off is battery operated, usually a small battery somewhere on the bottom of the door, might be a warning like smoke alarms that beep if the battery is low, cold weather would tax an old battery more.

Update - this required a battery for the senors which detects any obstructions. It required a 3.6v Lithium AA battery which I couldn't find anywhere on a Sunday afternoon. They were all 1.5v which did not work. Ended up purchasing it online. All working now. Thanks for your help guys.
