Hi guys. Whats the best way of hanging a rad when the pipework is already there and the rad valves are already on the pipes? The rad was removed as wall had to be replastered. The thing is, i need to be spot on when i drill the holes for the rad brackets as i have to use spring toggles therefore if i make a mistake i can not drill another hole nearby otherwise the spring toggles will just come off under the weight of the rad. Thanks as always for your time and advice.

Lay the rad flat and hook on the bracket

measure down from the top of the bracket to the centre of the rad inlet

then measure up from the centre of valve and mark that size on the wall

hold top of bracket to your line and mark the fixing holes,

As above.

But if it does all go pear shaped, there's usually enough meat in radiator brackets to drill you own fixing holes, or extend the holes into slots for adjustment instead of making your wall look like swiss cheese.
