For several weeks now i have had a problem with my SIME SUPERIOR 90 MK II boiler it has been making a banging noise when the pilot light comes on for the central heating and also when we put the Hot water on it makes the same noise
we have had a plumber who thought it may have been the pump so that was replaced didnt make any difference we have treated the central heating system with de-scaler, de-sludger, Inhibitor and this has made no difference does this sound like the heat exchanger may need replacing?

also do you think there may be some kind of problem with the motorized valve not allowing enough water to get to the boiler hence making the banging noise

thanks

Its difficult for me to suggest exactly whats wrong from what you have said without the opportunity to do some tests on the boiler.

What is clear though is that you need a competent boiler engineer instead of a "plumber" who has no idea what the problem is and just changes a part with no good reason.

I hope you did not pay him for his incompetence!
