We moved from England to live nearer my husbands relatives in Scotland. We sold a house and bought one for the same value now the house we sold down in England is worth £345,000 in comparison to how much the house prices in Scotland have gone up.
Now we are in the position even if we wanted to we could not afford to move back down to England as house prices have soared so much since we left.
Excuse my disappointment I didn't expect out house here to have gone up so much but i certainly didn't expect our old house and house prices in general to go through the roof in England like they have in the last 10 years making it impossible to move back down :0(
you bought the wrong house then. as you well know the scottish system for selling houses means that the value of the house is often nowhere near the sale price. to compare two houses effectively in two different countries is not clever IMO.
why have you edited your post? the original text is still copied in my post.
Why do you feel the need to be so offensive and rude?
Or are you simply one of those people who are looking to cause offence the conversation was with another poster who has replied about their friend who is a veterniary surgeon in Hampshire and how much they earn etc and the value of the house. In previous posts points concerning how much vets earn were being compared.
And in responce to what you have said who could in a million years believe house prices which were relatively even between the 2 countries 10 years ago could now become so far apart.
Now please just drop it i don't wish to join in with your argumentative and abusive behaviour any futher so please desist.
