That's OK, it sounds as if your cold bath tap is not supplied from the tank, but direct from the mains. In that case, just run until the tank is drained, then fill, turn off, repeat, a couple of times.
If that's how it works (some houses are done like that, especially outside London) then your cold taps are unpolluted, so safe to drink.
