the mains box for the intruder alarm is in the cupboard under the stairs is making some kind of noise same kind as the fridge does for example, does it supposed to be like that or should it be absolutely quiet? can you listen to yours plz to see if they make any noise

IHNI, but when this has been moved into the correct forum I expect the people there will be asking what kind of noise, and what kind of panel etc, and may like to see photos, so you could take some in readiness.

When you say "mains box", is that the square unit supplying power to the system, or the alarm panel itself?

Can you post a piccy?

It has a transformer inside. Give it a gentle nudge or tap to see if that quietens it..

Im not sure which box you mean. Is it the fused spur, that supplies your alarm with 230v. If yes then this should never have a noise coming from it & you should get some one to have a look urgently.

Or is it the alarm panel end station, this does have a transformer inside & can become loose. They can vibrate & just need the screws tightening back up.

Your best off getting some one to have a look as both the boxes have 230v inside.
