Hello all,

I've seen a few posts relating to this fault and people saying it could be the motor triac on the main board that has shorted. I've took the board out and found some black marks on the underside of component D3. I was wondering if it is just a case of me buying a new diode and triac from RS and soldering them into the board or is it not quite as simple as this (will it require reprogramming etc). Any help appreciated as I could do without spending another £300 on a Hotpoint washer/dryer.

Thanks again

If the component is replaced the software shouldn't need reprogramming unless the short corupted. Hotpoint can repair this for 110 pound. One off charge with 90 day gtee
