Hi,

I have a leak that can be traced to the end of the roof where it joins the front of the house via failing flashing.

I have a quote to just replace the flashing up to the chimney stack which will cover this.

Should I pay to have the whole of the lead flashing beyond the chimney as it will be the same age as the failing flashing? Is this recommended?

I would assume the flashing that is working would fail soon anyway?

In two minds! Just can see me having to pay again soon!

Any advice would be great!

Cheers

Your theory makes, sense but the flashing may still have plenty of years left in it.
There are areas in your roof which drain more water than other parts, the leadwork at sensitive junctions will wear out faster than others.

Thanks for the advice. Will go with replacing the parts that have worn.

Thanks
