Hi, my immersion heater trips the rcd when it turns on via an immersion heater timer switch. I can run the immersion on manual and it works fine but when it clicks on via the timer function it trips the rcd. If I change the timer switch will it stop the rcd tripping?? If not can I put the immersion heater circuit on the non rcd side of the DB??
Thanks in advance

Is it the same element?
If so, I would suspect the timer - If not, probably the element.

If the timer is the problem then yes.

No. Removing safety devices is not a way of curing faults.

Check if the timer is double pole switching, if it's not replace the timer.
