Hi

We are planning on installing a new 9.5 kw shower.

Our house when it was built was pre plumbed and pre wired for an electric shower and all of the connections are there, (mains connection for water and cable for shower, cable looks to be six mm)

From what I can see of the instructions so far, our wiring as it is in fine and we just need to wire up the shower and connect it to the water supply.

Am I being very simplistic here?
I just today wired up our cooker and the process seems similiar for the shower in terms of the wiring.

Thanks :)

You need to consider if 6 mm square cable is sufficient (depends on length of run and insulation around cable), if fuse/MCB is correct rating and whether an RCD is necessary. An electrician can advise on these points.

Thank you I will check with Ben our sparky he's a great bloke :)

9.5k shower is 10mm cable.
RCD is a must for showers
Bonding to consider

just do a search on electrical forum
