That's what Osbourne and the government were doing according to Mervyn King.
The Remain campaign were responsible for an onslaught of economic scaremongering in the lead-up to the 52 to 48 per cent Leave victory, warning of recession and every household losing £4,300

In mid-June, Mr Osborne also threatened to introduce an emergency budget, nicknamed a 'Punishment Budget', in the wake of a Leave victory.

Despite this, the FTSE 100 and the FTSE 250, which consists of the biggest companies on the London Stock Exchange, are both now higher than they were before the referendum.

A number of high-value investments, such as a £77m lifeline offered to a long-closed tin mine in Cornwall, have also further boosted the economic outlook.

In light of this, Lord King blasted Mr Osborne's comments as "counterproductive" and "insulting to the intelligence of the voter".

Who do you know that the swallowed the £350m NHS lie?

What's the value of the Incredible Shrinking Pound today?

The Stock Exchange indices are based on their value based on prices in Pounds.
If the Pound has dropped by 18%, how much have share prices dropped by, to anyone outside the UK?

If you believe Islam is a religion of peace and Muslims can do no wrong, no surprise that they believe Osborn's silly pathetic scaremongering.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

The way they behaved was a shameful disgrace and the mainstream media were utterly complicit too. I'm done with them.

Wow! Obsessive RWR Jack is trying to make it an anti-Muslim thread!

Who would have expected that!

Article in the paper today

Europe could go down the drain

Chancellor Angela Merkel's deputy Sigmar Gabriel warned that if the U.K got every thing that it wants , other countries would leave the E.U

and the union would be in big trouble.

Interesting selective quoting.

You missed out "German economy minister Sigmar Gabriel has said that Britain must not be allowed to “keep the nice things” that come with EU membership without taking responsibility for the fallout from Brexit."

But rather premature of him, since the Quitters have not yet agreed what, if any, parts of EU membership they hope to keep after resigning. So not yet ready to start the negotiation clock. Mrs May is holding a meeting on Wednesday to discuss strategy. Not before time. The sooner the Quitters agree what it is they want, the better.

I hear the banks have already accepted that London will no longer have Passporting to the single market for financial services, so will be moving to other European cities. Sales of red carpets have soared in Paris and Frankfurt. But we all knew that.

We also knew that the UK's Financial Services sector earns more than our entire manufacturing sector.

vice Chancellor Gabriel also all but admitted that EU / Us talks on a trade & investment partnership have failed after 3 years of negotiations :)

14 face to face meeting & they agreed on nothing

important issues raised by the EU negotiating team were

correct labelling on Turtle Wax products to emphasize to the end user that no actual products from turtles are used in the product.

marketing or use of the term "Hot Dog" as there is no Dog products in the said item which may prove confusing to some of our foreign visitors
as they may be under the impression that the item actually contains meat from a Dog ?

There was also a massive argument on the spelling of the word "colour"

the Germans objected to the word "kraut" being used i.e sourkraut product.
The Italians objected to the germans using the term frankfurter as they can date this sausage back to 1567 , which was long before the germans produced or marketed said item.

the belgiums objected to every thing

French bloke got boozed up (allegedly) & fell asleep

I can see Transam drifting in and out of dreamland again.

"The European Union's executive said on Monday it had a unanimous mandate from the bloc's 28 members to finalise negotiations on a free trade deal with the United States, a day after Germany's economy minister said the talks had "de facto failed".

Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel of Germany, the EU's biggest economy, said on Sunday that negotiations over the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) had failed because Europe rejected some U.S. demands."

Some kind of negotiating ploy, perhaps.

Has anybody seen evidence to support transam's confused ramblings?

No?

Not even transam?

No doubt you would celebrate the TTIP agreement if it did come into international law. Even though it would remove national governments power to regulate against profit driven multinational corporations in some cases.
