IR testing a USB socket.

Don't worry, someone will come up with the idea of a removal front plate that plugs into a fixed socket in the back box. If the USB unit fails then the 13 amp socket is simply unplugged from the back box and a new one put in its place.

Yes, possibly. Maybe, even, someone will come up with something that can be plugged in to a plumb-standard 13A socket which one can use for charging one's USB devices :)
