I want to knock down a small single brick solid wall at the end of my hallway, to make a room square. I've been told that it's not a supporting wall because the bricks only go down to the floor boards, and not beneath them to the ground/foundations. I have wooden floorboards suspended on timber joists.
Is this sound advice that a supporting wall would go down to the ground, rather than just the floorboards??
