Hi all.
I woke up this morning to a puddle on the floor in front of my Stanley range.
Managed to take some covers off and saw a drip right at the back. Oh bugger!
Managed to get an oil and gas engineer in this afternoon and he tells me the heat exchange unit is leaking and it needs replacing. Otherwise it could just suddenly fail and cause a real flood.
However he said it’s a specialist job and I need to get an Aga Rayburn guy in as he would be out his depth.
Long story short I’ve rang 10s of numbers off google and got through to most to be told it’s a massive waiting time to be seen due to recent weather. And upon asking for a rough quote for the job I’m told it is the price has varied from £1500 to £3000. And also numerous times been told that it’s probably not worth repairing. Oh and most specialists don’t touch Stanley - Only Aga Rayburn.
I don’t really want the range set up for heating and cooking going forward but also did not want to replace the systems any time soon due to £££.
Has anyone had experience in having a similar problem???
Thanks in advance.
Dominic
