I have recently tiled my downstairs bathroom, but when I came to reinstall the toilet I found that it was leaking when flushed. The leak comes from where the cistern joins the bowl. I have noticed that the rubber seal on the bottom of the cistern (does this have a specific name?) appears worse for wear and is partly coming away from the cistern.

I'm assuming the best course of action is to replace it, if so what do I ask for? Also is there anything else I should do to make sure the repair is effective? Any advice gratefully received!

dont take this as gospel, but they are usualy called gaskests.

so google for gasket for your brand of loo (i just did and some do show)

is it a close coupled w.c? if it is then its the doughnut that needs replacing.

It is a close coupled toilet. I'll check out gaskets, the doughnut doesn't look quite right.

Thanks for your time and help!
