I've been supplied with some 12v halogen lights to fit under a run of wall cabinets, along with a double insulated transformer (for 240->12) and a block to allow multiple lights to be connected.

1st question: Any recommendations / regs about whether to sit the transformer on top of the cabinets, and run the individual light wires down the back of the units, or whether it's okay to mount the transformer + distribution block on the underside of the cabinets. As far as I can tell, from reading these forums earlier today most of the space is Zone 3, but a small part is in zone 2 (it's 50cm above the sink rim - needs to be 60 I think?)

2nd question: The supply is from a lighting circuit, that pops out of the wall behind the position of the old bathroom cabinet, and it's permanently live, which means I need a switch between this and the transformer. Is my only option to fit a pull switch under the cabinets in Z3? There are no pulls in the house at the minute - all main bathroom lights are switched from outside - but I'm wondering, assuming it's acceptable in the first place, if a pull might be a bit big and daft looking under the cabinets anyway (though a cornice should help to hide it a bit). The only alternative I can think of is to get a sparky in to re-wire the supply via a double switch outside the bathroom.

Sorry for the long post, trying to give enough info...

TIA
