macerator discharge pipework

Hi everyone

This might seem a dumb question, but does the discharge pipework for a toilet macerator have to go vertically up straight from the macerator or are you allowed to have a horizontal run before it does a vertical? And if so, is there a max distance and/or fall?

I have looked on the saniflow website, but it's not clear to me

Oh, think I might have answered my own question - found some instructions for another brand and it says 300mm max horizontal before vertical pipework.

I'm trying to find a solution which would allow a fall of about 1 ft over 5m and THEN a vertical run - but maybe this can't be done??

PS I'm not a plumber obv!

I don't see why that would not work but probably more likely to get blockages.

Its always better to go up first and then gently slope down to create a gravity flow.

Many on the non return valves don't work well for long on those. I usually have to fit an independent one.

The route to go vertically up and then gently fall down would involve a quite few twists and turns, so can't see this would be great either - the option I am thinking about would not require these.

And noted about the non return valve

Maybe I should speak to the technical people at say Saniflo?

I'm fitting a saniflow compact and the run on that is a 2m horizontal ( sloping , if you see what I mean) there is a sink that is connected as well, then down 3 floors. I asked the technical dept as the example in the instructions showed the pipe I want going down as going up.
Give them acall they're very helpful,
