magic eye on oil burner??

hello..

just wondering is there such thing as a magic eye in a riello 40 oil burner?

and if there is what does it look like and where is it ?

was told if i clean it , dat the boiler should fire up?

the magic eye is a photo electric cell which is used for flame supervison, i am not sure about this burner but most if not all have them, as the detect flame failure, if yours is dirty, it may not be "seeing" the flame and thus locks out, alos if they move they can cause problems,
I wouldnt be so sure that cleaning it will make your burner fire, many things such as control box, oil pressure etc all can cause an issue
 
Remove the grey control box, Loosen screw and slide away from boiler!

Photo resistor plugs in to the front!!

What is the problem with burner?
 
Is the burer firing up then going out or is the motor running but burner not igniting?
