MEPS expenses .......

I guess we'll just have to make do with our even more corrupt/expense fiddling MP's and unelected Lords in future then...

What would be the point of electing Lords?
We already elect MPs.
What's the point of an unelected second chamber?

Except of course to keep elitism/cronyism in control in an out of date undemocratic ruling system ;)

But we have a better chance of discovering MPs' dirty laundry than of ever discovering MEPs' dirty laundry.
Dirty laundry is dirty laundry, whatever the origin...

But isn't Farage now on half MEP pay because his EU corrupt practices have been exposed?

crooked MEPs are sometimes found out

"Nigel Farage 'has £35k pay docked by EU over misspending claim'"
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-42669293

"The monthly pre-tax salary for an MEP is 8,484 euros (£7,530), which is the equivalent of an annual gross salary, before tax, of 101,808 euros (£90,235). They also receive thousands more in expenses for staff and travel costs.

Mr Farage, who will lose his job as an MEP in 2019 after 20 years in the European Parliament, recently described himself as "skint" in an interview with Mail on Sunday.

The 53-year-old will be entitled to annual EU pension of £73,000 when he reaches the age of 63."

If I was that "skint" I could probably get by without fiddling my expenses.

Does he do the job he's paid for?
