Moving cooking can I use a spur from existing?

I'm about to move a cooker point from one room into the adjacent room. Although we never use the cooker point, I think it would be a good idea to have one in the new room and do it before I decorate, is it ok to run a spur from the existing cooker switch (live side) to a new cooker switch.
