Hello everyone, I've been reading through the forum and would like to switch to a smart thermostat. I recently purchased a new home and I believe it is a zoned system.
Here is some information on the current setup:
TP9000 - Located in a boiler room (upstairs) next to a big water tank and combi boiler. It controls hot water and the radiators on ground floor.
TS2 - Located on the ground floor living room. I believe this is a thermostat to control the TP9000 on when it turns on?
TP4000 - Located in the master bedroom and controls heating on the upper floor bedrooms.
What I would like is turn this system into a smart system so it turns off when I am not home or something similar. I checked into some details with NEST and TADO.
For Nest if I believe the heat link replaces TP9000 and a thermostat replaces TS2, but what about the TP4000?
As for TADO, I believe I can purchase 2 thermo stats to replace TS2 and TP4000, and purchase x1 extension kit to replace the TP9000.
I quite like the Tado feature where it turns down the heating depending on how far you are from home, but heard some bad reviews about it being remotely controlled by their server, and have security issues.
As for NEST, the fact that it is self learning is very attractive. But installing it would be much more advanced.
Any experienced users know which is a better option for me?
