New lawn just laid, how long till we can use it?

I just put down new turf on Saturday and I've been very lucky with the weather this week with loads of rain here in Berkshire. I have a couple of questions:
at the moment you can still see the join lines. When will the turf knit together and the lines disappear ?
How long till we can walk on it and use it?

Stay off it as long as feasible really. At least 2 weeks and if you need to walk on it be light footed and walk very flat.

Do mow it though when needed but don't use a heavy mower

Agreed, stay off it as long as you possibly can.

When mowing, don't mow too short - probably put the blade height at its highest setting.
