new radiator

hi there my lounge is 14.5 feet by 12.5 feet
it has a single radiator appx 9 foot long by 27.5 inches high
i want to change it for a small double one .
please can you tell me what size it should be ?
also it is on micro bore copper pipe .
any advice would be very much appreciated .

800 x 600 double has sufficed for my similar sized room but I would be a bit wary of the microbore pipework and would prefer 15 mm feed. :D

If you gave us more info, number of outside walls, cavity insulation? large windows and/or double glazinf, open fire place etc, we could tell you better ;)
 
dear gas 4 you there is one outside wall with a 4x8 double glazed window
and cavity wall insulation all other walls are internal

From what you have said this works out about 1550 watts. Therefore a Stelrad compact 600 x 900 K2 should do. If you need another make of rad then just look up size against the 1550 watts heat loss ;)
