Got a problem with alpha ocean 240e.The hot water flowrate is fine but the temperature is only luke warm.If you close the tap to a trickle the it gets hot. The problem has happened before and an engineer descaled the heat exchanger and it worked fine for about a year. The heating side is fine. Just wondering if the heat exchanger needs changing or if anything else needs checking. I have"nt got a service manual. Can anyone help.

Usually it would alternate between hot and cold if the secondary hex is sludged up.
COuld also be a sensor, or some of your boiler water going to the rads instead of the heat exchanger for the HW. Diverter valve letting by, in other words.
Feel the CH flow pipe when it's cold, and turn a tap on. Can sometimes be "just" the diaphragm but the situation would change quite rapidly - ie not work!

On this model its nearly always the manifold section of the diverter valve is not following the hydraulic unit at the front.

This sends most of the heated water to the rads instead.

It will restore full DHW by closing one of the heating circuit isolating valves when you want DHW.
