Hi

Even if both heating and hot water controls are off the boiler fires up several times an hour, goes for a while and then off again...
The only way to stop it is to turn the central thermostat -the one on the boiler- to 0. But that means that you cannot program anything as you have to manually turn the thermostat back on again...any ideas?
thanks
tina

If its not the frost stat(not that cold yet)you may have motorised valves for heating and hot water and it may well be a faulty end switch sticking on and powering up the boiler.Check near the cylinder for motorised valves.

Thanks to both 45yearsagasman and Bamba71....And sorry for the very late reply, i thought i'd have a look first at your suggestions and then come back to you...and as the problem disappreared now with the cold i kind of forgot all about it...thanks again
