You ain't getting it mate. Juries won't convict when faced with reasonable doubt in case they get it wrong and an innocent man gets hanged, ergo, they let murderers off to murder again. If anything the murder rate would RISE.

As it stands guilt has to be proved beyond reasonable doubt. So what is your point.

A jury won't find guilt if there is ANY doubt at all - so murderers walk free.

The last man hanged was later pardoned. If he'd been imprisoned he could then have been released.
