Thanks for the info chaps.

I don't suppose any of you have any experience with them do you? Are they any good? It's a very small loo so not much space to heat.
 
I've got one of the 400W ones (and one of those thermostats) in mine, and it works fine.
 
I don't know if there is a combined timer/thermostat available at a reasonable price, then you could have it come on before periods of occupation, for comfort without excessive cost. I suppose it will cost about 5p an hour when running.

It might be worth asking on the Plumbing & Heating forum. As the load is very low it should be OK on a normal "boiler" stat (they are normally rated at 3Amps) which might be quite cheap.
