Hi sorry for asking but please could clarify the problem here , is it the fact the earthing is just useless being linked to plastic piping or a dangerous set up .
I know may seem stupid question , but if you don't ask ?

What is the PTFE tape for? Would not have thought the threads needs sealing? Or is it for insulation!
I always use Boss White if i have to use screw thread connectors, just helps make a more reliable join.
 
Didn't think you were meant to use boss white for potable water?
 
It's a compression joint, the olive is compressed between the brass of the fixing and the copper of the pipe to form a watertight seal, adding tape to the threads serves no purpose to be honest.
 
on the threads no, but a wrap around the olive is often advised for weepy joins on the plumbing section..
