The colours are very good, but If you had a plain white ceiling, it would have been perfect; the patterned ceiling clashes with the wallpaper I'm afraid- but that's just my opinion.

No, you're right. We did discuss it but neither of us minded it enough to get it plastered.

Personally I would remove the dado rail as it's dated, and would never have been an original feature.

I would paint the ceiling and freize (area above picture rail) one colour, and paint or paper the wall below the picture rail.

It's a possibility. Yes i think the dado is an addition as house was built in edwardian times. So they hd simple lines i think.

We are looking at papering a wall with a mural. You can buy great designs / photos etc now. Just started looking into it all.
