Hi, in our hallway (between the waist-height rail and skirting) we have victorian(?) panels. They look like they were moulded in plaster or similar. Right now they have a layer of gloss paint, same as all the woodwork.

We are going to paint the room and my wife has choosen a nice shade from the crown book. only problem is, its an emulsion for "walls and celings". Should we not really go for one of the ones which are suitable for "walls, ceilings, wood and metal"? they are certainly described as more durable and wipeable, but in terms of application does it even matter? the panels will be keyed and undercoated before the final coat by the way.

any advice?
