I've got a baxi boiler and no matter how many times i try, the pilot won't light. I can hear the gas going through, and the igniter button clicks but no joy.

What's the likely problem? Any tricks to get it on? If not, how much is it going to cost me to get fixed?

cheers

I have the same question - and I'm freezing here !
I have a Potterton Prima 40B. This morning some clever clogs who came to fix the washing machine, also unplugged the boiler - pilot light went out...
I have followed the instructions for re lighting - the ignition thingy works ok, we see blue flames - then as soon as I turn the knob to burner ignition it goes out again.
Please help, I am so cold !!!

Madders are you saying there is no spark? i.e. pilot not even lighting? if so your spark generator or lead is faulty.

Pen sounds like a detection fault, did the washing machine man do anything to the incoming mains( electrics) sounds like crossed polarity? 240vac on neutral to earth.

When were the boilers last serviced?

OK, take no notice of me - its FIXED !!!!
I just phoned our friendly heating engineer on his mobile, and he told me to press the reset button DOH !!!!! and now it works.
Perhaps the person who posted before me needs to try this too !
